Market Interface Review
The Market Interface Review (MIR) is an independent and objective appraisal of a company’s interface with the capital markets, combining a range of services provided by h2glenfern and culminating in a comprehensive recommended strategy and a series of products for implementation. It is conducted with a view to:
- Maximising Market perception of fair value for the company
- Maximising efficiency of management time applied to Market relationships
- Minimising share price volatility
and focuses upon the clarity and understanding by all relevant stakeholders of:
- Communication tactics and investor targeting
- Management philosophy
- The Investment Case for a company and its valuation
- Business strategy and its determination
- Business operating characteristics
The process is initiated with a perception audit of both management and the investment community, but expands into a systematic review of a wide range of factors and the subsequent development of tools for implementation:
- Assess current levels of Market understanding and investor following
- Forecast monitoring template (for understanding and monitoring analyst expectations)
- Investment Case presentation (the cornerstone presentation)
- Business Snapshots (to explain business dynamics and address areas of concern)
- Aggregate findings into an implementation strategy with a suite of documents to assist the process including:
- Analyse the peer group and its operational, financial and reporting precedents (the ‘Black Box’)
- Value the business and compare with the Market approach to forecasting and valuation
- Review and develop the Investment Case. Consider its clarity, the Market’s likely belief in its deliverability and the specific challenges posed by differing investor criteria
- Identify the specific implications of the structural and regulatory changes in the Markets
- Identify the level of Market understanding of Group strategy, its determination and the targeted outcomes from it. Analyse areas of concern or confusion.
- Investor and broker targeting (for greater control)
